Position: REVIVE Cost Estimator

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in field and 12 months of experience

Base Salary: $47,050 /year

 

Duties:

• Interpret technical drawings and project documents to develop estimates for time, cost, resources, and labor requirements.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to discuss and revise cost projections based on project changes.

• Gather and analyze past project costs to inform accurate estimates for upcoming work.

• Evaluate project or service efficiency by comparing actual expenditures with initial estimates throughout the lifecycle.

• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

• Manage bidding procedures and lead negotiation efforts with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Generate cost projections to assist in vendor and subcontractor selection decisions.

• Develop cost and time estimates to support management in project planning and resource allocation.

• Implement and oversee systems to track and report project costs and budget adherence.

• Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.

• Create periodic financial reports and documentation to track spending over the course of the project.

• Perform in-depth analyses to define standard labor metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Visit site and record information about access, drainage and topography, and availability of utility services.

• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

• Use remote sensing technologies or drones to evaluate site conditions when in-person visits are not feasible.
